Brood parasitism in action: Diederik Cuckoos are known to exploit a diverse range of host species, including weavers, bishopbirds, sparrows, and buntings, by laying their eggs in the nests of these host birds and tricking them into raising the cuckoo chicks as their own. The Selfish Gene is a great book that explores the concept of replication in life and the role of genes as replicators. It also delves into the relationship between genes and the organisms that carry them.

The author presents the material in a compelling and engaging manner, although some parts of the book are more speculative in nature. Overall, I would recommend this book to anyone interested in learning more about the fundamental principles of biology and evolution.

While the book primarily focuses on the gene as the unit of natural selection, I think it would have been beneficial if the author had included discussions on topics such as self-organization, mechanotransduction, and the influence of environmental factors on the development and evolution of DNA and genes.

The review talks about the book, "The Sense of Style" but the title is "The Selfish Gene".

Moreover, on the book reviews page, "The Selfish Gene" is repeated.
